The era of superhero cinema was already on the decline, but the success of Michael and The Devil Wears Prada 2, in back-to-back weeks no less, could be the final sign that Hollywood has been looking for. Michael grossed nearly $100 million domestically in its opening weekend, and more than $50 million in its second. The film's total domestic haul now stands at around $180 million in 10 days. Michael surrendered its box-office crown to The Devil Wears Prada 2, which has avoided the legacy sequel route to focus on the fan-favorite characters of the original film.
