UK regulator probes peptide clinics over unlawful health claims

Some clinics advertised peptides such as BPC-157, MOTS-C and Cortexin with stated benefits, pricing and treatment durations, even while labelling them as “research only”. The MHRA has confirmed that making medicinal claims would classify these products as medicines under UK law, subjecting them to strict regulation. Following scrutiny, at least one clinic removed such claims from its website. The regulator also highlighted that many peptide therapies lack robust clinical trials and remain largely experimental, with most supporting data derived from pre-clinical or animal studies.
