For a long time, Frank Herbert's legendary sci-fi novel Dune was considered 'unfilmable.' An abstract, ambitious sci-fi masterpiece that is difficult to quite comprehend in literal terms, the work has been adapted for the screen several times, but each attempt has failed. Then came Denis Villeneuve, who somehow did the unthinkable with a pair of films in our current decade, Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two, that have gone down as some of the best sci-fi filmmaking of all time.
