Four years ago, Paramount secured a sure-fire hit for its future when the studio won the rights to adapt the hit YA book series Children of Blood and Bone. In the years since, it’s been what many would likely agree to be a slow crawl towards a cinematic release, but things are finally moving forward in a big way. With names like Idris Elba (Masters of the Universe), Cynthia Erivo (Wicked), Amanda Stenberg (The Acolyte), Damson Idris (Snowfall), Regina King (The Harder They Fall), and so many more attached, the makeover, which will be helmed by BAFTA nominee Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Woman King), it’s shaping up to be a major win for the studio that previously found massive success with adaptations like Robert Zemeckis’ Forrest Gump and Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island.
