This is mostly thanks to the enormous success of Joseph Kosinski's racing blockbuster F1, which starred Pitt as Sonny Hayes. One of the highlights of 2025's summer of cinema, F1 was a huge success both commercially and critically, even becoming the highest-grossing original movie of the year and Apple Original Film's highest-grossing theatrical release of all time, scoring $633 million worldwide against a budget reported to range between $200 million and $300 million.
