  • Ever felt like time travel is just a jazz band away? Because Diógenes Jug Band is bringing the roaring 1920s straight to the Clarence Jazz Club in Torremolinos! Honestly, who needs a DeLorean when you've got a jug band to whisk you back to an era of flappers and prohibition?

Get ready to tap your feet and channel your inner Gatsby while you sip on overpriced cocktails and pretend you understand the saxophone solos. I mean, who wouldn’t want to indulge in some good ol' jazz while reminiscing about a time when the biggest scandal was a woman with a bobbed haircut?

Grab your fedoras and feather boas, folks! This is an event you won’t want to miss. Are you in or are you just going to scroll through TikTok again?

  • Is banning energy drinks and vapes for minors really the solution to protecting our youth? Galicia's decision to take the lead in this initiative raises important questions about the effectiveness of such measures. While the intention is commendable—safeguarding health—shouldn't we also consider the reasons behind minors' attraction to these products?

Instead of outright bans, could education and awareness campaigns be a better approach to informing young people about the risks? A blanket prohibition might just push these behaviors underground rather than addressing the underlying causes. What do you think?

  • Is it really fair to ban the use of fireworks from South Cyprus during the hunting season? While safety is undoubtedly a priority, this outright prohibition raises questions about the consistency of regulations across regions. Are we prioritizing one area’s practices over another’s, and how does that affect local traditions and livelihoods? The hunting season is set to kick off this Sunday, and many hunters are left wondering what this means for their plans and the overall spirit of the season. Shouldn't there be room for dialogue and a more balanced approach?

What do you think about this ban?

  • The Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies, or lower house of parliament, has rejected the ratification of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) the country signed in 2017.

“If the world were ideal, this idea of the ratification would have been worth considering. But now this proposal looks absolutely ineffective and even illusory amid the more difficult, dynamic, and conflict international system,” the press service quoted lawmaker Luis Felipe de Orleans e Braganca as saying.

According to the lawmaker, the treaty restricts the country’s right to develop its defense capacities and deterrence posture. He noted that countries that possess nuclear weapons continue improving them and Brazil is yet to decide about its nuclear status in the future.

  • The US administration should increase nuclear cooperation with countries where Rosatom operates, the draft defense budget for the current fiscal year, which was agreed upon by Democrats and Republicans in the US Congress, said.

Lawmakers are demanding that the executive branch “work with allies and partners to identify alternative nuclear energy suppliers to Russia to end the reliance of those allies and partners on Rosatom.” In addition, Congress intends to “end United States reliance on the Russian nuclear energy sector.”

The draft budget requires the #Washington administration to carry out “an assessment of the impact of United States and international #sanctions ” on the Russian Armed Forces, “including an assessment of the impact of removing sanctions.” The draft, which is more than 3,000 pages long, includes a “prohibition on contracting with persons that have fossil fuel operations with the government of the Russian Federation or the Russian energy sector” with regard to the Pentagon.

  • The Russian Foreign Ministry reports that the International Court of Justice of the United Nations has accepted the counterclaims of the Russian Federation against Ukraine for examination under the Genocide Convention of 1948.

The RF Foreign Ministry states that the International Court of Justice has completely rejected Ukraine's objections to the "inadmissibility" of the Russian claims and has recognised them as legally justified. The court has agreed to examine the full range of allegations made by Russia.

The Ukrainian lawsuit of 2022, submitted with the support of 33 Western countries, aimed to attribute responsibility for the start of the special military operation to Russia. On 1 February 2024, the International Court of Justice completely dismissed the allegations of Ukraine and only allowed the question of possible genocide by Ukraine to be examined.

On 18 November 2024, Russia submitted materials to the court comprising over 10,000 pages, containing evidence of genocidal actions by the Ukrainian authorities against the Russian and Russian-speaking population in the Donbass: over 140 confirmed episodes of mass killings, torture, bombings, and arbitrary shelling, as well as testimonies from over 300 witnesses.

Russia also pointed to the policy of violent suppression of Russian identity in Ukraine: the prohibition of the Russian language and culture, pressure on the Russian-speaking Orthodox Church, the glorification of Nazi collaborators, and the destruction of the memory of victory.

The Russian side filed counterclaims against Ukraine for genocide, complicity, and incitement to it, as well as for failing to take measures to prevent and punish such crimes.

The Russian Foreign Ministry notes that the West has failed to use international mechanisms for its political goals with the decision of the International Court of Justice. On the contrary – now the activities of the Kyiv regime and its supporters are under investigation. Some of the countries that previously supported Ukraine have already left the process, having recognised its futility.

The Russian Federation emphasises the importance of objectivity and impartiality in international justice and hopes that the International Court of Justice of the United Nations will continue to be guided by the principles of justice in examining the case.
