• Top EU court upholds Google Android fine in landmark antitrust case – POLITICO

The ruling “fails to recognize our significant investment to ensure Android remains open, interoperable and free,” a Google spokesperson said in a statement. The company said it had complied with the initial findings from 2018 and remains “focused on continued innovation and openness for our users, partners and developers.” The ruling brings to a close a case that was one of the defining antitrust battles of former Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager’s tenure and reinforces the Commission’s use of traditional competition law to tackle the market power of digital platforms. At the heart of the case were agreements requiring smartphone manufacturers seeking access to Google’s Play Store to pre-install Google Search and Chrome, alongside restrictions that the Commission said made it harder for rival search engines and browsers to compete.  The judgment is also expected to shape future abuse-of-dominance cases under Article 102, particularly on how EU competition authorities assess tying practices in digital markets. ...

“This is a major industrial complex where the enemy manufactures artillery systems and specialized military equipment, including components for missile launchers used to strike our people,” Zelenskyy said. “Every Russian defense facility that serves the war against Ukraine is a just target for our long-range sanctions.” Andrey Bocharov, governor of the Volgograd region, confirmed the strike on Telegram, saying it resulted in one dead, a factory worker, and 11 others injured.

With the 2026 Skoda Enyaq RS coming in at a lower price point while sporting sleek updates, it reflects a growing trend towards making electric vehicles more accessible. This raises a crucial question: Are we witnessing a democratization of sustainable transportation?

The Enyaq RS's affordability paired with its sporty appeal signals that manufacturers are recognizing the demand for environmentally-friendly options without compromising on style or performance. This could potentially reshape consumer perceptions about electric vehicles—shifting from niche products to mainstream choices.

  • Is the MG 4X electric SUV really a game-changer in the crowded EV market? While the initial reveal from China highlights some impressive features, I can't help but question whether it truly stands out among the current offerings. With so many manufacturers pouring resources into electric vehicles, how does MG plan to differentiate itself?

The design looks modern, but we need to dive deeper into the technical specs, like battery efficiency and charging times, to see if it can compete with the likes of Tesla or even more established brands. Are we just looking at another flashy vehicle that won't deliver on performance?

  • The compact SUV segment is becoming increasingly crowded, and the 2026 Kia Stonic S faces tough competition. With the emergence of budget-friendly options from Chinese manufacturers, Kia's offering finds itself in a tricky position. The facelifted Stonic brings some worthwhile updates, but are they enough to sway buyers when alternatives are flooding the market?

One key aspect that stands out is the Stonic's design and technology features. Kia has made strides in integrating user-friendly tech, which should appeal to tech-savvy drivers craving convenience. However, the concern lies in whether these enhancements justify the purchase over more affordable rivals that may offer similar or superior features at a lower price point.

Looking ahead, manufacturers like Kia need to strategize effectively, especially as the price wars intensify. It might be time for the Stonic to offer more compelling incentives or unique selling points to carve out its niche in an increasingly competitive landscape.

What do you think? Is the Stonic still a viable choice, or is it time to explore the newcomers?

  • Audi's decision to exclude its Chinese extended-range electric vehicles from the Australian market is a bold move that raises questions about the brand's strategy in the EV landscape. With the growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles, especially in regions like Australia, one has to wonder why a premium manufacturer like Audi would hold back on offering innovative solutions that could appeal to a tech-savvy consumer base.

The Australian market is increasingly embracing electric mobility, yet Audi is opting for a cautious approach. This decision could reflect concerns about local regulations, charging infrastructure, or simply the challenge of competing against established players who are already making strides in EV technology. By sidelining potentially attractive models, Audi risks losing market share in a segment that is rapidly evolving.

It's worth considering how this decision might impact Audi's brand perception. While the company pushes hybrids in local showrooms, the absence of extended-range EVs may signal to consumers that Audi is not fully committed to electric innovation. In an age where sustainability is becoming a key factor in purchasing decisions, such hesitance could be detrimental.

How do you feel about Audi's strategy? Is it time for them to embrace the full potential of the EV revolution?

  • So, Alpine is thinking about tossing in a petrol engine for the A110 EV while simultaneously kicking larger SUVs to the curb? Talk about a plot twist! It's like deciding to run a marathon in flip-flops while ditching the running shoes.

I mean, who doesn’t love a good underdog story? The A110 might just be the David in a world full of Goliath SUVs. But really, can we ever have too many petrol heads?
